MR16 bulbs are the kind of bulbs that are used in track lighting. You know the ones – they have little reflectors built in and look like tiny spotlights. They’re great for highlighting a certain thing in a room, such as a painting or a sitting area. But MR16′s and track lighting in general get the most use by far in retail.

Every store wants to create a certain mood and they always have things they want to draw the eye toward. What better way than to have a nice soft spot light shining on your new fall collection, on a sale advert, on beautiful jewelery… the list goes on. Anyone who’s selling anything has certain pieces they want to draw attention to and light is a subtle, effective way of doing it.

But retail stores have long had to face the reality that halogen MR16′s are expensive. They burn out relatively quickly and they use a lot of power. Most stores have just taken the hit and used them anyway because it makes such a difference in the customer experience. But it is still costly.

Now finally there are amazing high-quality MR16 bulbs available in LED! That means you get the same or better stunning light effect you get from halogen, but with a cooler, more energy efficient, longer lasting bulb.

If you own a store I suggest looking into LED MR16s right away. The next time you need to replace bulbs, give LED a shot and, believe me, you won’t regret that you did!
